மிருத்யு என்பது எமனையும் -மிருத்யும் ஜெயர் என்பது எமனை வென்ற சிவனையும் குறிக்கும். நோய்கள் தீரவும் - ஜோதிட ரீதியில் வரும் கண்டங்கள் நீங்கவும், உடல் பலம், மனோ பலம், புத்தி பலம் பெறவும் சிவனை வேண்டிச் செய்யப்படுகிறது. ஸ்ரீ மிருத்யுஞ்ஜெய ஹோமம்  மந்திரம் ஸ்ரீ மார்க்கண்டேய ரிஷியால் உபசிக்கப்பட்டது ஆகும். பயம் நீங்கி ஜெயம் பெற மிருத்யும் ஜெயரை வழிபாடு செய்வது சிறப்பாகும்.

 

Mrtyu refers to Yama, the Lord of Death and therefore, Mrtyunjaya refers to Lord Shiva who has conquered the Lord of Death. This Homam is performed seeking the blessing of Lord Shiva to heal diseases, eliminate dangers in our zodiac and to gain physical, mental and intellectual strength. The mantra for Mrtunjaya Homam was is preached by Sri Markandeya Rishi. Praying to Lord Mrtunjaya removes fear and ensures victory.
