ஸ்ரீ நடராஜப் பெருமானின் 6 அபிஷேக தினங்களில் மார்கழி திருவாதிரை நட்சத்திரம் சேர்ந்த நாளும் ஒன்றாகும். இது நடராஜரின் உஷத்கால பூஜையாகும். திருவாதிரை நட்சத்திரம் சிவனுக்கு உரியது ஆகும். ஆதிரை நாயகன் என திருமுறையும் - வேதமுதலான சாஸ்த்திரங்களும் போற்றும் நாளில் ஸ்ரீ நடராஜராகிய ஸ்ரீ ருத்ர சிவனை தரிசனம் செய்து வழிபடும் திருநாள் 'ஆருத்ரா தரிசனம்' ஆகும்.

The day of the Thiruvaathirai Nakshatram in the month of Maargazhi is one of the six Abishegams (ablutions) for Sri Natarajar. This is Natarajar’s Ushakaala Poojai (Prayer at Dawn).  Thiruvaathirai is the star for Lord Shivan. Thirumurais and the Vedas extol Shivan as the Lord of Aathirai. Arudra Dharisanam has the ability to grant the same benefits as the worship of the golden Chitsabhai (Hall of Conciousness). Of the six Ataras, this is the dance of the Anahata Chakra. Arudra Dharisanam has the potential to grant Moksha or liberation.
